Policy

*NEW Covid – 19 Policy*

  • Please do not come to the studio if you or your family have any signs of fever, cough, or respiratory illness. Student’s temperature may be checked before entry and hand sanitize upon arrival. Parents will be asked to pick up the student if he or she develops any symptoms during the lesson.
  • Mask is encouraged inside the studio. Socks are required.
  • Only one student is allowed inside the studio at a time. Parents and siblings are to wait outside or come back when it’s time for pick up.
  • Student should visit the bathroom at home prior to lesson.

     

Studio policy: 

  • It is a nut free environment.
  • Please be respectful to your teacher and others in the studio. 
  • Please be on time, any missed lesson time due to lateness will not be made up.
  • Please practice good hygiene, trimmed nails and clean hands. 
  • All books/ material must be ready. Assignments from the previous week must be completed.

Payments:

  • All tuition fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. All lesson fees are due in advance prior to your first set of lesson.
  • Payments can be made in cash or EMT. (8 lessons must be completed within 8 weeks after the start of first lesson) 
  • Late fee of $10 will apply if the payment is not received within 7 days of the first lesson of each package.

 

Lesson Cancellation:

  • Make-up lesson will only be arranged with 24 hour notice.


Snow day policy:

  • Piano lesson will not be cancelled on snow days, but can be converted into virtual lesson if school bus service is cancelled in the York region school board.

Public Relations Policy

  • Music with Carrie may use pictures taken at Music with Carrie Studio and / or Music with Carrie events in promotional materials, such as WeChat, website and Facebook.

Equipment and Lessons Policy

  • All students will require their music instrument(s) at home for their instrumental lessons and daily practicing.

  • For piano students, an acoustic piano (tuned once per year) is recommended; however, a touch-sensitive keyboard with 88 keys plus proper foot pedals will suffice for beginners.
